Draft โ€” attorney and insurance review required

The Fun Box Self-Tow Rental Agreement (Attorney Review Draft)

This is an attorney-review draft with unresolved placeholders. It is not a final customer-ready legal document and cannot be used for production checkout until an administrator marks a version Approved for Production.

Self-tow acknowledgment

Renter supplies the tow vehicle and performs all hauling. The Fun Box does not provide a driver, hauling, loading, or unloading service. Renter is solely responsible for connecting, towing, and returning the trailer.

Towing, Insurance & Accuracy of Information

I certify that the driver, tow-vehicle, and insurance information and documents I provide are accurate, current, and relate to the driver and vehicle that will tow The Fun Box trailer. I confirm that I am properly licensed and have checked my policy or consulted my insurance provider to confirm the applicable coverage permits towing and use of this rented enclosed trailer for the rental period and planned trip. I am responsible for maintaining the required coverage, supplying a suitably rated and equipped tow vehicle, and notifying The Fun Box of any relevant changes before pickup. I understand that The Fun Box relies on my representations. Receiving my documents does not mean The Fun Box has independently verified or guaranteed insurance coverage. My responsibilities for damage and other charges are governed by the rental agreement and applicable law.

Assumption of risk

Renter assumes the risks inherent in towing, loading, and operating a 28-foot enclosed trailer, including traffic, weather, loading errors, and equipment mismatch.

Release

To the extent permitted by Utah law, renter releases The Fun Box and its owners from claims arising from renter's towing, loading, or use of the equipment, except for claims that cannot be waived.

Damage, loss, and theft

Renter is responsible for damage, loss, or theft of the trailer and included equipment from pickup until return inspection is complete. Replacement and repair amounts are set by the administrator and are not invented here.

Non-refundable cleanup fee

Every reservation includes a $25 non-refundable cleanup fee, charged once per rental. It covers routine wiping down and cleaning of the totes and included rental equipment after use. This fee is in addition to the rental rate and applicable sales tax. Extra cleaning beyond routine tote reset may be billed separately if documented at return.

Ball hitch

The trailer requires a compatible, adequately rated 2-5/16-inch ball hitch. The renter either supplies their own hitch at no extra charge or rents a Fun Box hitch for $15 once per reservation, as selected on the booking. A rented hitch remains Fun Box equipment and must be returned with the trailer. The hitch rental is not a receiver, wiring, or brake controller. Final fit is confirmed before release. The owner may refuse release if the vehicle, receiver, hitch, electrical connection, brake controller, or overall setup appears incompatible or unsafe. Exact hitch make, model, class, and ratings are not published until entered by the owner. This optional charge applies only to reservations where the renter selected the hitch rental; it is not added to historical signed agreements.

Payment authorization

Renter authorizes The Fun Box to charge the selected package total, the $25 non-refundable cleanup fee, any selected $15 hitch rental, and configured Utah sales tax as disclosed before payment. Payment may be captured before arrival or at pickup through the same secure processor. A reservation is not paid, and gate access is not released, until payment is captured on the server.

Prohibited and high-value item disclosure

Renter will not transport illegal items, hazardous materials, or undisclosed high-value cargo that the draft policy does not cover. Exact prohibited-item language will come from the approved agreement version.

Pickup condition record

At pickup, renter will complete the checkout inspection, photos, inventory count, and connection checklist before leaving the yard. Existing damage must be noted before departure.

Return condition record

At return, renter will empty and clean the trailer, complete return photos, and remain responsible until the return inspection and ledger are closed.

Contract note โ€” hitch wording

Earlier marketing and this page described an adjustable hitch as included with the package. New draft version DRAFT-2026-09-hitch-optional treats the hitch as optional: customer-supplied at $0 or $15 rental. Historical signed agreements are not rewritten and existing bookings are not charged. Attorney review is still required before production checkout.
